CONCEPT SPACEは、周知のように古い長屋式アパートをそのまま使用した素朴で未完の展示空間です。そこに展示される国内外の優れた現代美術は、未完の空間を補うようにそこに佇み、多くの鑑賞者たちを魅了してきました。”何も加えず何も省かない” 日常の中で嗜む美術の至福の時間は、２３回の来日個展によってCONCEPT SPACEの指針を示してくれた故人ロジャー アックリング氏のための展示スペースとして３０数年機能してきたスペースでもあります。活動開始からの４０年や２００回を超える企画展やコンサートを回顧することより、未来を定義づけるために現代を見据えること、コロナ禍にあって見えてくる至福の時間の有り難さ、この繰り返しの４０年のようにも思えます。時代が換わり時流が繰り返されても、美術の本質と同時にいつも美しさの普遍性について考えて来たようにも思えます。

４０周年記念企画。その３回目と４回目の展覧会は、数年間にわたり準備をしてきた特別な企画展です。最初に登場するエルンスト カラメレ氏は、カッセル／ドクメンタ展に展示された”ウォールペインティングの美しさの出会いが始まりです。２００５年にオーストリア／インスブルックの市立美術館で開催されたカラメレ氏の大きな個展は、彼の集大成でとして今も新鮮な記憶にあります。コンセプチュアルアートに属する彼の仕事は、日本の中では未知数の謎の中にあるでしょう。CONCEPT SPACEの私淑と強いこだわりから、新しい作品を含んだ数点を展示いたします。
次に登場する村上 友晴氏は、日本を代表する著名な画家です。寡黙とも思える村上氏の制作スタンスによって時流を超えた「絵画の普遍性」について深い洞察力を鑑賞者は求められます。心地よい絵画、しかしながら凛とした絵画表面の強さ。２０２１年の展示に引き続き静かな佇まいを鑑賞できるでしょう。
３ヶ月の長期に渡る会期の中で数回訪れていただきたいと願います。季節の推移と対峙する瞬間の心地よい緊張が嬉しい気持ちになるものです。

As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of CONCEPT SPACE Since 1982, we are planning two exhibitions that will be the core of the 40th anniversary commemorative project.
CONCEPT SPACE = Ernst Caramelle
CONCEPT SPACE / R2 = Tomoharu Murakami
As is well known, CONCEPT SPACE is a simple and unfinished exhibition space that uses an old Nagaya-style apartment as it is. The excellent contemporary art exhibited there, both domestically and internationally, stands there to fill the unfinished space and has fascinated many viewers. The blissful time of art that "does nothing and omits" in everyday life is an exhibition space for the deceased Roger Ackling, who showed the guideline of CONCEPT SPACE through his 23 solo exhibitions in Japan. It is also a space that has been functioning for over 30 years. By looking back on the exhibitions and concerts that have been held for 40 years or more than 200 times since the start of the activity, we are looking at the present age to define the future, and thank you for the blissful time that can be seen in the Corona disaster. It seems like 40 years. Even if the times change and the times change, it seems that I have always thought about the universality of beauty as well as the essence of art.
40th anniversary project. The third and fourth exhibitions are special exhibitions that have been prepared for several years. Mr. Ernst Caramelle, who first appears, is the beginning of the encounter with the beauty of "wall painting" exhibited at the Kassel / Documenta exhibition. Mr. Caramelle's big solo exhibition held at the Municipal Museum of Art in Innsbruck, Austria in 2005 was I still have a fresh memory as his culmination. His work belonging to conceptual art will be in an unknown mystery in Japan. From the personality and strong commitment of CONCEPT SPACE, new works were included. We will exhibit several items.
Mr. Tomoharu Murakami, who will appear next, is a well-known painter representing Japan. Mr. Murakami's production stance, which seems to be silent, requires viewers to gain deep insight into the timeless "universality of painting". Pleasant painting, however, the strength of the dignified painting surface. You will be able to appreciate the quiet appearance following the 2021 exhibition.
We would like you to visit us several times during the long three-month session. The pleasant tension at the moment of confronting the changing seasons makes me happy.
